Aria flexed her fingers, showing Sunset that they had healed. As for her face, she was still bruised but it looked like she was healing.
“I grow new teeth too. Like a shark.”
She laid back on her sofa.
“Thing about being immortal and hyper-fast at healing. You could keep beating the shit out of me like that over and over again. Some of my enemies figured that out in the past,” she snickered.
She blew a raspberry. “Sorry I tried to steal your blood, Sunset. ShimSham probably should’ve kicked my ass more than she did. I’m not always one hundred percent firing on all cylinders, ahem.”
“Trust me, if Sonata hadn’t stepped in, she probably wouldn’t have stopped until your head was pulp.” Sunset said with a grimace. “But… I was actually hoping to talk to you about the blood thing too…”
Rarity thought she had seen this mare’s likeness somewhere before. But where? Was it a drawing? Or a stain-glass image?
Well, no matter. It was rude to stare and not say hello.
She took her hoof and shook daintily.
“Well, that is…an interesting way of greeting me. I can only surmise that…” she thought of why this mare might call her ‘Equestria’s Rarity’ instead of just Rarity. Her deduction jumped to one conclusion, though she might be way off. “you’re Sunset Shimmer?” she asked a little sheepishly.
“I am.” Sunset said with a small smile. “I’ve heard a bit a about you from Princess Twilight, but it’s a pleasure to finally meet you.”
Instead of speaking, Sunset instead sat on her haunches, and seemed to close her eyes in concentration.
Raising her hoofs, a small yellow light began to appear, and a small sheen of sweat seemed to form on Sunset’s brow. Suddenly, she moved her hooves in a spiraling motion, and… symbols began to appear, swirling in a rapid motion all around her.
Celestia’s wings opened instinctively as she went on alert but she remained sitting and watching Sunset, horn softly aglow in case something were to go wrong. She stayed silent so she would not break the unicorn’s concentration.
The unicorn let out a short gasp as her light suddenly gave out, and she dropped her hooves in exhaustion. “That was so much easier with hands…” She said with a pant. And if Celestia had taken notice, Sunset’s horn never once lit up.
“I know I had once said that the human world doesn’t have magic, but… I was wrong, Mom. They do. And it’s beautiful…”
“Huh. I… didn’t think so.” Sunset took a deep breath, saying, “You might wanna sit. Theres… something I need to tell you. I’ve just been putting it off.”
Usually Celestia was the one to warn others of bombshells. So being warned of earthshaking news felt strange. She however sat as Sunset suggested and nodded.
“Yes, Sunset?”
Instead of speaking, Sunset instead sat on her haunches, and seemed to close her eyes in concentration.
