This whole bankruptcy thing was a money making scam by the suits who bought out the company back in the 2000s and ran it into the ground.
Not only is the toy store brand not dead, but 30,000 people are now angry as this scheme blocked them out of severance pay and they are now unemployed and unable to return to work when they start up again.
Many toy companies including Hasbro are raising eyebrows at this, as the initial bankruptcy cost them millions of dollars in sales revenue and their stocks took a nasty hit (Mattel being the worst off from it, as Toys R Us closing compounded with steadily falling sales of their products). Advocates are calling this a “bad PR stunt” since the suits want the company to make sales for the holidays.
Hopefully, this will cause enough of a stink to kill it off for good. I’d rather say goodbye Geoffrey as I knew him than have him come back as a reanimated corpse controlled by greedy hucksters who put thousands of people out of work for no other reason than to line thier own pockets and escape the consequences of their own failings.

It would’ve been more believable if it took YEARS to make a comeback….but taking just a few months?
Would’ve been less sleazy if they are making changes to the store but this is just despicable greed that not only affected toy companies but employees
Even known toy reviewers like Pixel Dan isn’t happy about this news, didn’t jump in joy that Toys R Us is coming back but the opposite and i don’t blame him, especially when we grew with this company when we where kids
This has happened to me before when I was in college at a frat party. This girl comes squeezing herself in between me and my friend and throws her arms around me. “Amanda, I am so glad you decided to come!” I was so confused and just figured she was drunk and mistaked me for someone else, until I saw the panic on her face. She leaned close and whispered that a guy was following her, was certain that he had put something in her drink and if I would please play along. I looked behind her and sure enough, some creep was watching her like a hawk. We invited her to hang out with us the rest of the night and even waited until her ride showed up just to make sure she was safe. Always look out for each other!
If you ever feel scared like this just come up to me like we have been friends since kindergarten, call me any name u can come up with ill play along.

Perfect advice. I’m reblogging this as a guy, because first of all, if you”re a guy : DON’T DO THAT. Don’t be that creep.
And if you’re a guy and you notice some creep is following or stalking a girl, and that she’s obviously uncomfortable or panicked, go ahead and say hi, long time no see, pretend to be her cousin, and tell her discretly you noticed there was a shady guy. Ask her if something’s wrong, if she feels unsafe, if she wants your help (very important – she may not trust you enough, no one could blame her, don’t take it personally). (and don’t you dare take advantage of the help you offered for a flirt opportunity, that would make you no better than the creep)
We can all stop “witnessing and do nothing”, and set an example.
Alternative option for a guy: if you feel safe doing so, go up to the creeper who’s following her and be like “hey WHAT’S UP bud do you like SPORTS? My favourite team is the redsox what’s YOURS my man? What you DRINKING dude that looks GOOD.” and be friendly and just loud enough to blow his cover. Draw attention to him and see what he does. He won’t feel as safe creeping if he knows people are looking at him, and maybe he’ll leave. It also means the woman won’t have to worry that you are *another* creeper she has to be wary of, and you may distract the bad dude enough to give her a chance to lose him.
“So the princess told you everything…?” Cozy frowns for a moment before thinking over her words carefully. She didn’t know who this pony was and wasn’t sure on how they ticked yet.
“So…Have you come to laugh at the filly who’s behind bars in a place like this? If you know that I’m not getting out anytime soon, then why come see me unless it’s for that? I’m just a young pony but this is the proper punishment for me? It’s unfair, don’t you think?” She leans up close to the bars, pressing her face against them a bit. How would they react…?
Sunset could smell the bullshit from Cozy Glow a mile away. After all, she had once done the same herself, except in all her years as a bully, never once did she get caught. She had to admit though, he acting was quite good, but not good enough to fool Sunset.
“Wow. I gotta admit, your acting is top notch, but you aren’t fooling me. Even if the Twilight and Celestia didn’t say anything to me, you wouldn’t have me fooled. After all, I’m the Queen of Bullshitting.”
She stepped closer to the cage, a smug smile on her face. “As for unfair? Nope. I think it’s quite proper. Maybe in another time, I would’ve thought it was unfair, but that me is gone. Besides, you tried to send Equestria back to the stone age by sending away its magic. Did you actually think about what would happen after it was gone and what it would’ve done to the planet as a whole?”
This isn’t a meme, but I felt like I should point some of these things out. Especially since this blog has over 500 followers for some goddamn reason, so this’ll probably get around faster.
Have a rules page and about page, especially if you’re playing an OC. If you’re playing a canon muse, you should still have an about, but with OCs it’s extremely important to have an about as the people you’re interacting with would know nothing about your muse otherwise, and that makes interaction much more difficult than it should be.
READ *claps* PEOPLES *claps* RULES *claps* AND *claps* ABOUT *claps* PAGES. I cannot stress this enough, these people have rules and about pages for a reason. Not reading someones rules is not only inconsiderate, but it can also get you blocked because you broke a rule you would have known about if you actually took the time to read their rules.
Don’t make your first message to someones IMs be just “wanna rp?”. I’m sure they’ll appreciate you being forward, but it’s kind of impersonal and can really throw someone off.
NEVER REPLY TO A FULL/MULTI PARAGRAPH REPLY WITH A ONE-LINER. This is a problem I’ve dealt with in the past, and I can tell you that it’s incredibly frustrating. Sending one-liners back and forth for fun is one thing, but replying to a long thought out reply with a single sentence is just one of the absolute stupidest things you can do, and is a surefire way of killing someones muse for a thread. Don’t do this.
Make sure whether or not an open starter/starter call is mutuals only before reblogging it. I feel like this is self-explanatory, but there are people who have reblogged mutuals only starter calls from people they’re not mutuals with and asking if it’s okay, so apparently it’s not.
Do not ask for smut with someone you’ve never interacted with before. Now, I myself have never had this problem, but I know people who have. Do not do this. It’s a surefire way of making someone very uncomfortable, and you’ll mostly likely get blocked if you persist, that is if you didn’t get blocked immediately, which is also very likely.
These are only some of the things you need to know, and I’m sorry if I sounded aggressive, but these are all very important. Tumblr wasn’t made for RPing, but we’re here RPing on it anyway, so please don’t make this any more frustrating than it already is. We’re here to have fun. I’ll probably add on to this some other time.
