Sunset seemed to tense at the minks words, almost at a loss. Finally, she said with a sigh, “I… can join you wherever you wish ma’am, but it’s… quite different for me to relax.” She said with a sigh.

Even though she had been a bodyguard for a mere years, she had only ever had one instance of a client getting hurt. And it didn’t end well for her.

The mink did not seem too pleased with this reply. She frowned for a moment before her hand placed itself against Sunset’s chest. Leaning in, she ensured their eyes locked together and the mink spoke passive.

“I do not trust you, Miss Professional. I never trust those the companies force upon me. However, for the moment, I am wishing to at least lessen my guard for you. I expect the notion to be returned.”

Pausing, she let the words sink in.

“I am not asking you to give up your job. I will not ask you to forget about it nor ignore it. But if you want this working relationship to be anything more than simply distrust and begrudging acceptance until I can rid myself of you, you will be joining me.”

She was being, as best she could, honest with Sunset. It was perhaps a little harsh and blunt but that was the fact of, the truth in which the mink laid out her intent and goal. This would see if Minerva and Sunset could get along proper. Both had to lessen their safety, their professionalism….. but were the gains of possible friendship stronger than that?

Sunset gazed into her eyes as Minerva spoke, her words as smooth as lace but had an underlying strength of steel. Finally, she seemed to bow her head slightly, letting out a deep sigh before cracking an ever so small smile.

“…Ok. Okay.” She said, her shoulders dropping slightly. “So… where to first? I… haven’t been to a spa since I was a little girl.”
