When Sunset came to the library to do a little research for the time she had missed when she was in the human world, she figured she could get a little alone time. But it seems the world had different plans for her since she was now sitting face to face with… was that… a Kirin?
Her gaze went up for only a moment when she spotted her, staring at her. She saw the kirin give her an awkward looking smile, so she politely returned one back, and gazed at her book once more. But… she was curious. She had never seen a Kirin before and in the human world, they were passed off as myth. But now…
“Um… hi.” She said timidly.
Oh thank goodness! An invitation to speak!
“Hello!” Autumn Blaze almost threw down her index cards at the greeting. “I love your mane! Oh gosh! I have a cousin with almost those same colors. It’s like the sun’s fire at sunset! So gorgeous. Makes me want to paint a picture! Anyways, sorry I was staring. I do that sometimes when I see inspiring things. It’s quiet in here. Ahem, a little too quiet. How are you doing? I’m Autumn Blaze!”
“Oh…” Sunset was stumped as the volume in her voice caused her ears to fold back in surprise, glares present as she looked around the library at the ponies near her.
“Um, thank you Autumn.” She said quietly. “I’m Sunset Shimmer.” She said, trying to keep her voice low. “And yeah, it is a little quiet because it’s a library, after all.” She said with a giggle.
