No matter how much Sunset ran, it still seemed like that thing was right behind her.
She was panting with exertion and her feet and pants were soaking wet with sewer water, and she smelled like shit and piss but still she ran. Her legs felt like they were on fire, but she knew she couldn’t stop even for a moment, otherwise she didn’t know what would happen but at this point, she was beginning to wear down.
Taking a sharp turn into another pipe, she took a a look behind her and saw nothing behind her. She raised an ear in the air and listened intently, but heard nothing. Figuring she was safe, she slid down onto her rump, panting deeply. Eventually, her panting turned into nerve-wracking sobs. This isn’t how she thought she would die crying in a sewer being chased by Celestia-knows-what, cold, wet and alone.
Unfortunately, a loud, otherworldly shriek shook her from her self depression, and she sprung to her feet, taking a semi-crouching boxing stance.
Her breath caught in her throat as she heard a scuttling sound from above her. With a shout, her right fist shot out as a large fireball, exploded from her hand. But in the time the ball left to her hand to hit her target, it let out another screech and scuttled away. Even as she started to run again, she could help but think to herself…
‘That thing looks like a giant squirrel.’
{~🔬 The motion triggers alert him to movement in the tunnels, the ones close to their lair. Too close. Even if they are caused by homeless people, he needs to divert them away and toward a manhole so they can crawl out and back toward the surface. Keeping a flashlight in his hand, Donatello scans the familiar tunnels carefully. Doing his absolute best to stay out of sight, at least until he hears a familiar screech along with a scuttling sound.
Taking a few steps back, Donnie’s blood ran cold and he grasps his staff in order to defend himself should he need too…not the Squirrel-a-noids! God, why did they have to be back?!
Taking a wary step forward, Donnie only had seconds to react before a body collides with his own. Knocking him back a few steps and causing his shell to hit the wall as well as losing his staff in the process.
Eyes spinning for a moment before he looks up to see what he ran into, hoping it was said creature, finding himself partly happy that he was wrong but more horrified at the sight of what he is staring at.
A fiery haired young lady panting and covered in the filth from the sewers. Chestnut eyes never once leaving the panting and panicked form, his own mouth open to allow breath to escape.
“I-I w-who…what are you doing down here?!” 🔬~}
Sunset’s breath was knocked out of her she felt herself colliding with a figure. Letting out a panicked shriek, her right hand light up in a shroud of white hot fire, heat filling up the area as she looked at the figure that hit her… and immediately froze.
Her breathing began to lessen, and seemed more at ease as she looked into his soft brown eyes. “I… I was walking through the city… I went down an alleyway to get away from some muggers and slipped through a manhole cover. I figured I could lose them in here.” She said, wiping her eyes. “I… I got lost a little after. I followed a pipe, and… and… I found this-this… thing! I don’t even know what it is!” She said, her voice a panicked whisper. “Please… please help me!” She cried, tears flowing once more as reached out for this mysterious being.
