But I’ve been geeking out super hard lately about taking cheap ass, nutritionally pour, instant ramen and making a legit meal out of it.
Please excuse the shitty Tupperware container and the disheveled appearance of the food. (I got excited and took a bite before I remembered to snap a photo)
But yeah I boiled the corn and noodles together, drained all the water and then mixed the chicken bullion packet in. Also added a dash of teriyaki sauce and smidge of sriracha. Makes the noodles way more flavorful than making a broth.
Made a little pocket in the noodles and added a stir-fry I made earlier.
It’s some pan seared, thinly sliced steak mixed with caramelized chopped onions and peppers, garlic, butter, and a little soy sauce.
Then I topped it with
A dollop of sour cream
Chopped green onion
A sprinkle of chili powder, cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, and garlic salt
A little drizzle of Sriracha
And finally a little drizzle of locally produced honey
This shit is fucking delicious. Not going the soup route let’s you have distinct flavor zones you can mix and match from, instead of everything just blending together. I think I’ll add sliced hard boiled eggs in the future for some added protein.

(personally I’ve found that nicer cuts of steak actually seem to perform worse in this dish. Not as easy to chew as a stir fried meat.)
