Good evening my dear Niece. -Princess Luna said with a soft smile- I take it you have been readjusting yourself ever since my sister brought you back to Equestria? I am sorry for not being able to speak to you as often as I wish, but the duties of the Night Court can be rather… dull. Thankfully there isn’t much going on tonight in terms of court, which gives me some free time this evening.
“O-oh! Princess Luna!” Sunset said, shooting up slightly before dropping into a low bow. “I-I didn’t hear you come in…”
Luna laughed.
Huzzah! I am certain we will get along just fine, dearest Sunset.~ And it means a lot that you find my nights more elegant than what was seen in the other world, not that I would doubt the nights there would be as wonderful.~
When Sunset asked about the friend they are going to see, she just smirked.
That my dear pony is a surprise. But before we go to meet them, I must stop and grab my gear from my personal chambers.
With that, the two go to Luna’s private bedchamber. The two Night Guard ponies each salute their Princess and Sunset, as Luna opens the doors to her room. The door closes behind the two as Luna goes toward her closet.
Make yourself comfortable for the moment Sunset. It will be a few minutes before we depart.
She opens the doors up and within the dresses for several different occasions and events, she opened up another door within the closet, which was shown to be her personal armory.
I don’t suppose your mother has told you, but back then we were known to be exceptional fighters with the blade, myself moreso while Celestia favored the halberd.
She said as she grabs her piece of armor from its rack, black as night and with the symbol of the moon on the center. Resting next that, was her helm.
There isn’t many ponies that are able to keep up with my skills, even some of the best in the Royal Guard have trouble facing me in a sparring match, considering I combine my swordplay with magic.
However, there is only one that is able to best me in a sword fight, and that would be our friend we are going to see.
Since they are in town, I figured it would be nice to pay them a visit and see if they are still sharp with their blade skills, even after 1000 years.
“Whoa… I gotta get me some armor like that.” Sunset said in awe. “And swords? Really? I was a bit of a fencer myself in the human world. Liked knives too. And magic… I still need to get a good control back over mine.” Sunset said sheepishly.
Is that so? Then perhaps I will have to test you at some point then. Although Tia might kill me if she learned if I was to teach you about swordplay and the like…
She then mused but smirked.
Well we’ll just have to keep that between us then.~
She winked, as she soon got equipped in her armor and helm, as well as collecting her sword, which had a crescent moon on the crossguard and the sides of the hilt were in the shape of a wing.
Now then, we shall be off. Our friend is at a spot that I usually go to when I like to hone my skills solo, so chances are they are waiting now.
She moved close to Sunset as her horn glowed and the two of them teleport from the castle to the outskirts of Canterlot to a secluded clearing. The night sky sparkled nicely as the moon’s gentle glow shone the field.
Luna looks around.
Hmm… where could they be?
She scans the surrounding area, before setting her sights on a shaded area between some trees and bushes, noticing how one tree looked odd from the rest.
The princess smirked.
Are you a little too old to be playing hide and seek? You can’t think to hide in the shadows and think I can’t see you? I am the Princess of the Night, if you have forgotten.
Come out of there.
At first there wasn’t a response, however the one tree began to move toward the alicorn and unicorn. The moonlight covered their appearance from the front but it seemed as if this individual had two strange looking sticks coming from its back. However, the light slowly showed that the individual was carrying not sticks, but a rod and a staff, and was wearing a red brimmed hat with a single white feather on the side, and what looked like a long, red leather coat with a brown, leather breastplate underneath.
And they were pretty tall, like the same height as Celestia tall, with Luna only being a couple inches shorter.
To Sunset, it was evident what this mysterious stranger was.
Soon the light revealed their face, showing it being covered by a face mask covering his nose and mouth, but his eyes were shown, dark brown eyes, and appeared to have light blond hair and a ponytail that reached their back as the wind sways it in the breeze.
…You’re late, Princess.
He was a human. Celestia and Luna’s old friend appeared to be a 26 year old human man.
Sunset was more then shocked. She was almost floored. “I… How… What the fuck…” She muttered to herself. “How… How is this even POSSIBLE? How are you here?”
