Sonata kept her guard up around Sunset. It was a nice thing to say, sure. But this was still the reason she and her sisters were basically starving these days.
“…thanks,” she said swiftly. “You do too,” she couldn’t help but add. “I really like your hair.”
“That’s… That’s really fuckin’ wise. And so true… But I don’t blame them for suspecting me. I did so much bad shit to everyone at that school. I ruled it with an iron fist. Until Princess Twilight brought me down, I thought I’d be unstoppable…”
She gently squeezed the sirens hand and continued. “I know what I did was wrong, but… They promised me a second chance… I thought they would at least give me the benefit of the doubt but… They just…” She trailed off, sniffling gently to herself.
“Well, you don’t have to worry about being judged with me,” Sonata told her. “I mean, if you don’t mind the fact that I’m a siren. We can be friends.”
She offered her hand to shake.
Talking to her one-on-one was nice. She almost felt a little bad for bullying her all those times. But it had been part of the plan then. They had needed that energy. But now things were different.
Sunset took her hand and gave it a gentle shake with a small smile. “No, I don’t mind. Considering we’re both technically aliens from another world… I guess we gotta stick together, huh?”
