Sunset took a shuddering breath as she felt a hand gently touch her shoulder. It took everything in her willpower not to collapse in a sobbing mess on the street. Slowly, she turned around and faced her old mentor, friend and even mother figure with red, puffy, tear filled eyes. “Is.. is it really you…” She asked.
She just smiled softly, looking at her. She simply brought the girl to her and hugged her, rubbing the back of her head softly.

As calm and gentle as she was, Celestia was slowly letting some tears shed. This was real for both of them, and even after all these years, she still saw her faithful student, her old friend… the daughter she never had. Nothing in the world mattered as she held the sobbing girl close.

Sunset pulled the ruler into a tight embrace, thankful that she was her, and now she never wanted to let her go, her cries growing louder as she clung to Celestia. “Mommy… Mommy, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to leave you! I was just so stupid and selfish! I never wanted to hurt you! I’m a bad pony! I’m a bad pony…”
This surprised Celestia and she couldn’t help but look down at her. She kneels down and held her tightly, rocking her gently.

She said gently, stroking her head softly. Really, she was trying hard not to breakdown as well, just hearing her daughter saying she was a bad pony made her heartache.

She just continued to rock her gently to help her calm down.
