Eclipsa nodded with a smile, a little surprised to see a friend amongst the masked crowd.

“It makes for good fun. The mystery of it all…Dancing with a stranger who could be a monster…”

Lucky that mask covered her blush!

“Ooo, got your eye on someone, eh?” Sunset asked with a wiggle of her eyebrows. “Well, hopefully they’re nice, otherwise they’ll have to deal with me if they hurt you.”

Eclipsa grinned again at Sunset’s offer of protection.

“No need to worry! They’d never hurt me.”

Granted, a bite mark here or there happened but nothing Eclipsa was too bothered by.

“I get lost in those four eyes of his…”

“Oooohhhh, so it’s a guy! Four eyes…” Sunset scanned the crowd through her mask and saw a couple of being with four eyes. “Is it… Is it that big red guy with ponytail?”

“Yes. Fortune smiled upon us tonight with a place he was welcomed at.”

If it was back home in Mewni, he would have killed for even coming amongst mewmans much less their queen.

“We started dating a few months ago. There was a ball I was supposed to go to but…I spent the night with him. It was wonderful…”

“So then what are you doing her shooting the breeze with me?” Sunset said with a raised eyebrow. “If I were you, I’d go to him and have another one.”

“Well, he rarely gets a chance to be in an place like this. Back in our dimension, he’d be far from a ball held by the rich and powerful. I want him to enjoy it so much.”

But Sunset was right, she should be at his side.

“Would you like to meet him?”

“I know how that goes. My old mentor had balls like this once every year to celebrate the completion of our nation’s capital, Canterlot. From what I remember, it’s boring, stuffy and everyone there were total snobby jerks.” Sunset said with a roll of her eyes.

“Sure! I’d love to!”
