Sunset sighed as she snapped her guitar case shut. Tonight certainly didn’t go how she had expected. She set the case down on its side and arched her back, popping it loudly as she let out a groan. ‘Getting thrown out of a club will do that to ya,’ she thought to herself.
It wasn’t her fault! The manager stiffed her on the 75 dollars she was supposed to get. When they knocked it down to 30, that’s when Sunset got mad. She may have said a few things and punched… a few people. But she got her 75 dollars. And a lifetime ban from the club.
She was so upset that she didn’t even notice when the girl had bumped into her. She quickly turned around, a snide remark at the ready… but froze when she saw a head of hair… red and gold hair.
Just. Like. Hers.
“Hey, watch it–!“
The bump could have been easily avoided, but Sunset wasn’t one to scoot over the other way for someone that didn’t know their place. In fact, she hadn’t regarded the person with much of a look until now: she had something else in mind entirely.
But now she did look. And Sunset was, perhaps, just as astonished as her double.
The same hair, the same eye and skin color, even the same height. Most that was different between them was the clothing, but this (fake?) Sunset’s fashion sense wasn’t far off from hers either.
The necklace was tacky, and Sunset never did learn to play an instrument, but everything else was in order.
After the freeze, however, Sunset directed a cold, harsh stare towards her double. She looked across the other Sunset’s chest, as if looking for something that wasn’t there. While Sunset did not wear a necklace like this one, she did have a badge on her.
“Hold up. What’s the meaning of this?“
“Is this a prank? Someone’s messing with me?“
Sunset was frozen in terror. Sure, she had anticipated it at some point in her life… but never under these circumstances. No friends, no home, no journal to Twilight to back her up. All she could do was back up in fear as her counterpart glare at her.
She self-consciously covered up her chest as she saw the other Sunset eyeing hers and, finally showing some response, she snapped “Hey! My eyes are up here!"
