“Yeah, I don’t by that for a second, Mr. Blllllaaaannk.” She said, drawing out the word ‘Blank’ suspiciously. “If you really were a teacher, then you’d know I was telling the truth, especially if you were around at the time of The Fall Formall. So you can take your concern and politely shove it.” She said, slamming down another shot. “Fuck that school and those lying asshole with it.” She snarled she said, snatching the card from him, giving it a quick once over before tossing it on the table.

“Ok, yeah. I’m getting serious ‘Deadpool’ vibes here, so allow me to quote it. “Right now, you sound like an infomercial, but not a good one like Slapchop, more Shake Weighty.” She said, giving the card a quick glance as she noticed the man spill something one the card. As she saw the words appear, a quite rage filled her as she said “What the hell does that mean?”

“At the Formal, all I saw was someone getting suckered” Blank replied smoothly. “What kind of power would allow you to fall in with the wrong crowd that has you putting your face at the bottom of a bottle? You might call it power what happened on the Fall Formal, but I simply can’t see it that way.” Blank’s callous dismissal was followed up by a slight chuckle as she saw the words.

“I believe in the world being shaped by the way you choose to see it. The truth is subjective after all, missy. Your power stopped existing the moment you stopped using it. Your friends became your enemies once they were done using you. For that terrible crime, they made you into this…” Blank tapped the card with a knowing smirk.

“My trade is real power, missy. Empowerment of yourself, and finding the truth that you enjoy. Why not start by showing the world your truest self?” Blank leaned backwards, arms crossed in anticipation. “Bravery, honor…you still have those things, right? That ought to be enough to find out whoever did this to you. That’d be a good start”

Sunset contemplated Blank’s words, looking down at her thumbs l, twiddling them in though. “All I ever wanted was power. And when I had it… it felt so good. The rage… the anger… I liked it. And I hate that to do.” She said with a sigh. “And I can still hear… her voice. The evil me. She’s right there in the, lingering in the blackest part of my brain…"

“I’m always afraid that if I give her control, that I won’t ever want to back to being… me. I can tap into her magic if I need to, but if i use it for too long…” She said, summoning a small black flame in her palm, her sclera turning a deep shade of black. “I start to feel her fighting me for control. And of she gets loose…” She trailed off, snuffing out the flame, her eyes returning to normal.

“As for my so called friends… Well, I guess the never really were my friends. But I’m done with them. I got by own my own long before I ever met them.” She said, grabbing the bottle and slugging the rest of the whiskey down.

She popped the bottle off her lips,  giving out a slight gasp for breath as she did so. “I do have those things. If there’s one thing that stupid rainbow Kamehameha gave me it was a sense of humanity, instead of just selfishness. But now… my humanity is only getting me so far. And I want whoever is behind Anon-a-Miss to feel the same pain I felt like when those five skanks left me crying in that hallway!” She said, slamming a fist down on the table, her eyes growing black once more as she snarled in rage.

“That’s the spirit” Blank nodded, offering a few quick glances to the flame and black eyes. “I think your mistake is thinking those things are mutually exclusive. You’ve equated humanity with being restrained, but that seems like a contradiction to me, missy. Isn’t bravery about lack of restraint? And honor about bringing forth a restraint that is only under your own law? If anything, your humanity compels you to seek justice” Blank said, threading his fingers together as he continued with his proposition. “I do hope my words have given you a little perspective, but if you really think it all to be such a terrible sin, then who am I to stop your thorny path of martyrdom?” Blank rose to his feet, dusting himself off.

“I suppose that it doesn’t interest you at all to know that I got my hands on their address” Blank shrugged, holding out yet another card and waving it in front of Sunset’s face like a bone in front of a dog. A smile split his face and he said “That’d be a sin, right?”

“Four weeks ago it would have interested me. In fact, I’d probably be trying to beat you into the ground for it. But now… fuck ‘em.” Sunset said, taking the card from Blanks hand, giving it a once over before stuffing it in her jacket pocket. “The way I see it, whatever God is up there can bite me."

She snatched the bottle from the table and slugged down a good quarter of it before getting up, a light stumble in her steps. "As for the whole "lack of restraint” thing? That’s just it. My restraint is keeping my dark side in check. If she gets out, I won’t be able to stop her. Like… Jekyll and Hyde but with more dark magic.“
