Blinking a few times, Ace suddenly gave a nonchalant smirk, jokingly flipping her hair.

“I am pretty irresistible though.”

“Because that’s such a good thing,” Ace snorted, leaning forward as if to stretch.

“The only good things we’ve got goin’ for us is our looks, our ability to float around, being able to stay young as long as we take people’s energy, and being able to tease people easily.”

“Mmm, I don’t mind. I just love sex, honestly. I mean, I don’t try and seduce everyone I meet, and I’m already a demon, so I don’t really have to worry about disease. Plus partners I get can be amazing sometimes, but there’s always the weirdos that wanna do really freaky shit.” Shimmer said with a shudder. “I may be a demon, but man… some people are nuts.”

Shrugging, Ace bit the tips of her fingers.

“Well then, it’s what you enjoy. I’m not really all that into sex and stuff, but some people just like it. I’ve gotta agree though, I’ve seen some people who really are into some weird stuff. It gets scary at some points.”

“Ah… well, in that case, sorry about, uh… ya know whispering into your ear all low and quiet like.” She said sheepishly. “It’s just… you’re really pretty, and usually I get pretty straightforward around girls that catch my eye. Hehe…” she quipped, blushing and scratched her head awkwardly.

Time seemed to slow down as Shimmer heard her gasps and fall to the ground, a large vertical slash appearing right along her back. She looked at her in disbelief before dropping to her knees now, right next to the injured girl.

“S-Sav…” she asked, a gentle tear stream running down her face.

“… The sky is …”

In the grass underneath her, blood from the large slash began to trickle unevenly as she looked at Shimmer.

“Y-Y-You’re.. gonna be o-okay.. okay..? Y-You’re a demon.. a-a big.. tough, demon. Y-You’re gonna go h-home and you’re g-g-gonna be okay…”

“No! No, I’m not gonna leave without you…” she whispered, gently cradling her head gently as Savannah look at her. Never in her life had Shimmer ever felt so much pain, so much heartache… or so much anger.

Wounds now forgotten, she trembled in rage as the temperature in the air seemed to rise. Visible steam rose off Shimmer’s body in wisps as she let out a low snarl. Her eye snapped open and took on a black tint as her fists lit up, black fire crackling in her fists.

The last thing she remember before she black out was lunging at the demon, screaming in a primal rage.

Crossing her arms, Ace shifted her weight to her left leg. She hated explaining this to people, she got judged way too often.

“I’m a succubus, but I’m against the whole ‘sleeping with every person you see’ kinda thing.”

“…Huh. That is different.” Shimmer said with a raised. “But hey, if that what you’ve got going, don’t let me stop that.” Shimmer said with a grin. “I’d like to think I’m half succubus somewhere in here.” She said, tapping the side of her head.

Sunset was floored. Sure, Sunset knew SL, hell, Vinyl taught her after the Battle of the Bands but… did she actually see that right? “I… wait… what do you mean? I thought you and the others at school didn’t wanna talk to me anymore?”

I never believed in any of that shit, honestly. I don’t care what others have to say about other people. What matters is what you think of yourself. So…need any help, ‘Set? She wasn’t just gonna leave her there. Not like that. After all, she’d bumped into her, she needed to do something to make up for it.

Sunset let out a short sniff as she quietly nodded her head, but unable to control herself, she embraced Vinyl in a hug, letting out soft sobs as she said “I can’t believe you believe me…”

“I’m not too big on my name, so just call me whatever you want.”

Taking shimmer’s hand, Ace tilted her head.

“Well, I’m not the most beautiful of my kind, and certainly not the most normal one, but I think we could get along pretty well. Nice to meet ya.”

“Well, I disagree on the ‘beautiful’ aspect, but what makes you so different?” Shimmer asked curiously.

Shimmer’s sole remaining eye widen at the sound of the demon laughing all around them. She had to get Savannah out of her otherwise theses freaks wouldn’t hesitate to tear her into literally ribbons. She had already killed most of them, but by the time she was halfway through, they had gained a second wind and beaten her into… this.

She groaned in agony as she felt Savannah push herself under her arm, but had had to push through. Eventually, she had found her to her feet, shakey and struggling, but on her feet nonetheless.

“C-C-C’mon~! It’s just.. a-a-a few demons! We’ll get out of-”

A scream did not come out of Savanna next, not really anything vocal – just a quiet gasp as she felt something tearing through her back just alongside her spine, and the initial shock that came afterward in the overwhelming rush of pain. She felt something warm flushing down from the injury and ended up collapsing afterward.

“… Ah …”

He listened, but never saw. That was all he could do. For now.

But once the initial shock had worn off, he had sprung from the rooftop, landing on the staircase on the side of the apartment building with a loud clang before slipping off into the shadows once more, swearing to himself. Stick had always told him, “First rule of stealth is to never fall, Mattie. You do that, you’re as good as dead.” But in his rush, he’s slipped up and in turn, cause the killer to hear him.

The man twisted around, and Daredevil heard the gun whistle in the wind as it whipped through the air, slightly to the left. Leaping out of the alleyway, he slugged his baton at the man’s hand, relishing in the sickening ‘CRACK’ it made as the shooters hand broke.

The man tried to make a break for it, but Daredevil was already on him, sweeping his legs out from under him. Turning him around, he struck him. Once. Twice. Three, four, five, six times in rapid succession, but paused as he heard the sound of a police siren approach.

Throwing the man on the ground, he darted off once again, seeming to vanish into the night once more.
