“ShimShim, you can’t just attack every villain that throws a punch at me.”
Shimmer hunched over on the garbage can as she fell into another coughing spell, this time hacking up a little blood. Once it subsided, she fell to the floor, still panting slightly as she said, “Yeah, well villain or not, nobody does that you while I’m around.”
To say she was confused would be an understatement. The mutant woman was not accustomed to having anyone stand up for her. So she reached down and rubbed Shimmer’s back and thanks. She crouched down and used a towel from inside to wipe off some blood from the demon’s face.
Shimmer took a hold of the towel as she tried to chuckle softly, but ended up coughing up more blood. She looked up at Demencia, one eye still swelled shut, yet a large smile plastered on her face as she said. “Heh… Di… did you see the look on that woman’s face when I punched off that guy’s jaw?”

“Get behind me.” “I can take care of myself.” “I got hurt, so what? You’re safe, that’s all that matters.” “What were you thinking?” “That was stupid and dangerous, you’re lucky you didn’t get hurt… or worse.” “Will you relax? I’m fine.” “I would never forgive myself if you died when I could have saved you.” “Just stay quiet and let me take the heat, okay?” “I don’t want you getting in trouble because of me!” “I can’t let you do that.” “I don’t need your protection.” “I’m going to make him pay for what he’s done to you…” “At least put a coat on, it’s freezing out there!” “Be careful, alright?” “Stop being such a mother hen!” “Thanks for looking out for me.” “Don’t worry, I got your back.” “You can’t protect me forever.” “I can’t lose you! I won’t lose you.”
