Sunset looked over at the area the woman was pointing to and managed to make out the outline of the giant mansion in the distance. With an impressive sounding whistle, she turned back to the woman, smile on her face, asking “ Yeah, that works. Hot damn, that place is huge. You live there?”

She rolled her eyes playfully, “Duh. I’m Pacifica Northwest- local billionaire, owner of Northwest Industries.” A multibillion, multinational corporation she’d inherited from her parents. They were huge. “I’m sure you’ve heard of at least one of our companies.”

A few texts to Soos and he was on his way- “The town’s small, he’ll be here in like ten minutes tops.” Eight minutes was what it actually took for the man to arrive in his truck. Their conversation was brief but friendly, and he had the woman’s motorcycle hooked up to his vehicle. “You can ride in my car, he’ll follow us to the manor.” Without another word, she got into her flashy car.

Sunset’s eyes widened as she heard the name “Northwest”. “Wait, THE Northwest? Who hasn’t heard of you? You’re one of the biggest names in the nation next to that Tony Stank guy in New York. What are you doing all the way out here?” The woman ask she as got into the car, adjusting the bag on her back that she had managed to snag off her bike before the mechanic strapped it to his truck.

How To Be a Good RP Partner

rpadvice:

Do:

  • Respect the fact that your RP partner has a life outside of RP. Work, family, friends, children, medical issues, school, or even just other hobbies/TV shows/other games. Respect any of it. If you don’t, they’ll likely become stressed, annoyed, or burnt out.
  • Show that you appreciate them. You can do this by: sending them messages, expressing your excitement about your story with them, share ideas with them, or even just flat out tell them.
  • Respect their boundaries. Some people don’t like to discuss OOC things with their RP partners. This doesn’t mean they don’t like you as a person or that they don’t want to be friends within the RP world. They just might be a private person.
  • Send them prompts/memes/asks that they reblog. It shows that you’re invested in the story and learning more about their character and it helps keep the RP going even in little ways. Just because you RP with them regularly doesn’t mean you can’t send them things on tumblr.
  • Communicate! This is something that we see talked about a lot but it’s surprising how often it isn’t really done.  If you have a problem with how something is going, tell them. If you feel like something is wrong, ask them! It doesn’t do either person any good if things aren’t talked about.
  • If your partner comes to you with something they feel is wrong or they have a question, ect. Be honest!

Don’t:

  • Harbor resentment about something until you blow up on your partner.
  • Do something or push for something that they have already told you that they are not comfortable with.
  • Try to change their character.
  • Discourage them from RPing with others.
  • Guilt them for not RPing with you.
  • Take them for granted.
  • Keep them as a “trophy” once you have them and then rarely RP with them after that, stringing them along.
  • Lie to them. About anything.

Please reblog so others can see!

Sunset blinked equally as the woman made her very blunt comment. “I… I’m new?” She finally managed to stammer out. Truthf be told, she really didn’t wanna be here for longer then she needed to be. She could feel a type of magic surround the area as soon as she entered the forest, and from what she could gather, it was not friendly.

Still, she couldn’t help but ignore the girls comment in leu of her situation. Now wasn’t the time for her to get on anyone’s bad said, especially in the middle of a potentially hostile forest. “Look, I really don’t wanna be out here for longer then I need to be so, can I get a little help or a phone so I can call a mechanic or something? This forest feels… off. In like the creepy, horror movie way, like… like something is gonna pop out any minute and drag me off with a hook in my back.”

Ah, new. Hopefully a gnome wouldn’t come skittering by but in the meantime- she wouldn’t bring up anything supernatural. No one outside of town would take Pacifica seriously if she did. “Of course the forest like, feels off. This part of town is really dangerous.” She pulled out one of her cellphones, “I wouldn’t trust any of the nearby mechanics with your bike, they’re all super incompetent but I do know someone who can help.” Soos wasn’t a certified mechanic but she trusted the handyman. He’d fixed up her cars in the past, earning his spot as her go to man.

“I’ll call him and he can tow it to somewhere you won’t get killed.” She pointed to her mansion, visible on its hill even from where they were. “Over there work? It’s probably like, one of the safest areas to be.” Mostly because she’d paid the Pines to do whatever they had to do to magically protect the grounds after the fifth time the gnomes broke in and ruined one of her gardens. Couldn’t do anything about the ghosts though.

Sunset gazed into her eyes as Minerva spoke, her words as smooth as lace but had an underlying strength of steel. Finally, she seemed to bow her head slightly, letting out a deep sigh before cracking an ever so small smile.

“…Ok. Okay.” She said, her shoulders dropping slightly. “So… where to first? I… haven’t been to a spa since I was a little girl.”

“Very good. Besides, if you’re with me, it would make your job easier in a way. What better way to keep an eye on me then to join me, hm? Anyways, my arrival here isn’t exactly planned. No-one should even expect me today.”

Informing the other of that, the barefooted mink elegantly sauntered her way towards the front desk and in a brief chat, a hum and clearly some playful flirting, the mink returned to Sunset. Saying nothing to her, she motioned for her to follow and they would head down the corridor towards the spa suites.

All Sunset could do at this point was follow the mink to where she needed to go, taking in the sights and smells around her. This was… way more comfortable then she was use to. But the place smelled great. A hint of vanilla in the air, with the ever so smallest amount of mint.

“So… where are we off to first?”

“Cry and drink all day. Pathetic mammal weaknesses make you poison body and stink up air in front of me with reek.”

“Then stop sniffing the air and buzz off Lizard man.”

“HSSS! Home is right above Lizard’s territory; stink is too strong to avoid. So I will make it stop.” Every time his tongue flicked out, he seemed to fight the urge to recoil. Apparently lizards really, really hated alcohol. Perhaps just this one, who had memories of them hidden in the recesses of his brain. He knew they slowed the body and they twisted the mind; he didn’t like to be on the receiving end of that. Even if just sniffing it wouldn’t do it, he couldn’t help the agitation and anxiety he felt.

“You’re a a stupid mammal. If you want to drink poison, there are easier ways. Faster ways. So why bother? Just drink them and leave me alone.” The only reason he had not torn her head clean off was because he was fairly sure she’d taste revolting. Worse than rotting meat was meat with a rotting mind inside of it.

“Leave you alone?” Sunset countered hotly, “Need I remind you that you’re the one who found me?” She took another swig from the bottle of Jack gripped in her glass, wiping her mouth with a grimace. “Besides, you want it to stop, then all you have to do it eat me. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to stop you. You’re like… a lot taller then me. And stronger.”

The Lizard’s patience snapped instantly. With a sonic boom like a whiplash, a heavy tail surged forward to smash the bottle.

“Stink up Lizard’s territory, defy warnings, Lizard punishes!” he bellowed, tail thrashing about the flooring around him and claws tearing gouges to follow it. Standing upright, he loomed over her, strings of drool dribbling from his maw and accompanying the odor of sewage and rotting meat. If she wanted to fight…

“See claws, see teeth. Lizard brain inside of you says to run. Flight, not fight. See bigger male, see threat display, instincts make you run, RUN, RUN!” The telepathic poison of the Lizard flowed freely, aiming to destroy conscious thought in favor of basal impulses that a little tree monkey used to avoid being eaten by monitor lizards millions of years ago.

The bottle flew out of Sunset’s firm grasp and shattered against a nearby wall, the amber liquid splashing against Sunset’s short leather jacket and onto her skin. But she only looked at the broken bottle with a shrug, then reached into her jacket to pull out a small silver flask, slugging down the contents before tucking it back in her jacket’s inner pocket, hair blowing behind her as the lizard man roared in her face.

But Sunset was seemingly unafraid. Instead of running like most people, all she did was cross her arms and say, “Welp, good thing i don’t have a Lizard brain in me. Still, I really don’t fee like dealing with this shit, so if you’re gonna eat me, do it and be done with it.”
