Stop insulting your work.[I don’t care how much you hate it, stop. Find ‘what I’ll do better’ instead of ‘what I did wrong.’]
Finish/Keep everything. [Yes, even the bad stuff when you hate how it’s turning out.]
Stop erasing so much. [Just make a new layer and hide the old one, or start on a different spot of your paper and redraw it until you like it. You can’t learn from your mistakes if you can’t see them anymore.]
Notes/Faves and attention are reflections of your business skills, not your artistic skills.
Draw for yourself and your enjoyment, not other people.
Do not base your entire artistic foundation on negativity. It will crash and burn, and you will attract the wrong crowd. [Bashing other people, critique for the sake of hating on something.]
Stop using the ‘it’s my style’ excuse. [Style does not excuse something looking bad/being anatomically or technically incorrect.]
Study. [Bad at something? Study it until you’re less bad.]
Stop comparing yourself to others.[You’re on your own path at your own pace. EVERYONE started at a low point and had to work their way up. You’ll never know you’re ‘going slow’ if you don’t worry so much about what speed others are moving at.]
There’s nothing wrong with fanart. [Want to get more attention and grow your audience? Fanart. It’s a common ground that people can relate to and recognize, bringing them over to your table before you share your own content.]
“Hehehe,” Autumn Blaze cracked up. “Are you a hotfudge sundae? Because you’re both cool and hot!”
She was going to say delicious too but even she knew that might come off as kind of creepy for someone she just met.
“Hey, that’s not a problem at all.” Sunset said. “I’ve never been on a date with a Kirin before, so it’s bound to be interesting for the both of us!” She gave her hooves a little clap together in excitement as she asked, “So, is there anywhere you’d like to go?”
“Well, is there anywhere in Canterlot you particularly like! I’m…brand new! So you could maybe be like my pony tour guide!” Autumn stepped beside her, shoulder to shoulder. “We just need to pick a day and time! And I’ll be there!”
“Well, unfortunately I’m gonna be a bit busy coming up here in the next few days, but I’ve got some free time tonight.” Sunset said, gently nudging her shoulder against Autumns. “Do you like musicals? I know a theater near the center of the city that puts on the most amazing plays!”
