Sunset blinked equally as the woman made her very blunt comment. “I… I’m new?” She finally managed to stammer out. Truthf be told, she really didn’t wanna be here for longer then she needed to be. She could feel a type of magic surround the area as soon as she entered the forest, and from what she could gather, it was not friendly.
Still, she couldn’t help but ignore the girls comment in leu of her situation. Now wasn’t the time for her to get on anyone’s bad said, especially in the middle of a potentially hostile forest. “Look, I really don’t wanna be out here for longer then I need to be so, can I get a little help or a phone so I can call a mechanic or something? This forest feels… off. In like the creepy, horror movie way, like… like something is gonna pop out any minute and drag me off with a hook in my back.”
Ah, new. Hopefully a gnome wouldn’t come skittering by but in the meantime- she wouldn’t bring up anything supernatural. No one outside of town would take Pacifica seriously if she did. “Of course the forest like, feels off. This part of town is really dangerous.” She pulled out one of her cellphones, “I wouldn’t trust any of the nearby mechanics with your bike, they’re all super incompetent but I do know someone who can help.” Soos wasn’t a certified mechanic but she trusted the handyman. He’d fixed up her cars in the past, earning his spot as her go to man.
“I’ll call him and he can tow it to somewhere you won’t get killed.” She pointed to her mansion, visible on its hill even from where they were. “Over there work? It’s probably like, one of the safest areas to be.” Mostly because she’d paid the Pines to do whatever they had to do to magically protect the grounds after the fifth time the gnomes broke in and ruined one of her gardens. Couldn’t do anything about the ghosts though.
Sunset looked over at the area the woman was pointing to and managed to make out the outline of the giant mansion in the distance. With an impressive sounding whistle, she turned back to the woman, smile on her face, asking “ Yeah, that works. Hot damn, that place is huge. You live there?”
