“Yuri…” Sunset said glumly, before she let out a sad sigh. “… I’d love to see it.”

“I-I mean, nobody else seemed to know it was even about you–”

“Um – um, here, take it.. I’d love to hear your thoughts.” Yuri held out a small sheet of paper, her elegant cursive writing lining the page as usual.

“Rays

Curtains of self-destruction close
And the mirror, closed off from sunlight, still shines with vivid insecurity.

An overwhelmed and broken spirit wants to bathe in the river and release her emotion again.

But gently, slowly, surely

The sunbeams of crimson and yellow shine through again

Bright, powerful, indestructible, incredible sunbeams

That bring new emotion to the world and even more to express

A thousand gratitudes would never say enough
And a thousand apologies would never express the regret

So the spirit sits and allows the ruby rivulets to surround her, along with the sunbeams shining through the cracks in the mirror and the curtains of the window

Thinking of her always

Bathing again.”

Sunset re-read the poem over and her again, unsure of how to respond. “Yuri… this… this is beautiful…” she said, her eyes seeming to grow misty.
