“…” Shimmer froze in her tracks as she heard Nero speak. Moving quickly, she stopped in front of the bed… only to see it completely empty.
“No…” she said in a wavering voice, tears beginning to fall from her eye. “No… oh please, Celestia NO! NOOO!” She cried, collapsing loudly into a heap on the floor her IV tipping over to the floor.
She lay there on the floor, squirming pathetically as she ran a hand through her hair, sobbing her eye out. In her grief, she let out an earsplitting cry, one so loud it echoed through the room and could be heard well into the next, the pain and anguish heard clearly in it.
“Was somebody with her? … Was anybody with her?!” Nero was about to feel that much more lost if this kid had broken her promise again and went out on her own just to meet her fate.
“Are they HERE?!”
… And of course, he then came sprinting into Shimmer’s room, eyes red and puffy, tears streaming down his face, even as he saw her on the floor and ripped apart.
“Shimmer-! … Shimmer, you’re –!! CAN WE GET A GODDAMN DOCTOR IN HERE?!”
Even as a team of doctors rushed in to try and calm her down, to sedate her, anything, all the demon did way cry pathetically. “It’s my fault! I couldn’t save her! It’s all my fault!…” She never took notice of Nero as she tried to crawl her way to the empty bed.
“I’m sorry Sav! I’m sorry! I failed you…”
