All she remembered were blurbs. Flashes of red.
Black.
Yellow.
Screaming.
And… unbelievable pain.
Her arm… she couldn’t feel it. And not like “it’s only broken”, no this… it felt like it had been ripped off.
She remembered taking to the skies… only for more pain to hit her. Then…
A typhoon of fire. One so large, it obliterated the are she was in.
Now…
She felt her eye slowly crack open, and she realized she was in a room of white. In front of her, a large hospital bed, propped down to where she was unable to see it’s occupant. But she did the only thing she could think of before getting up entirely, calling out in a small voice, “S-Sav?…”
Savanna did not respond. In fact, it did not seem that she was even there.
Maybe hope wasn’t lost. Maybe she just was in a different room.
But a familiar voice could be heard from outside, and lots of pacing.
“No – no, you’re kidding me. You’re lying to me. Shut the hell up and give me some real answers, what actually happened?!”
Shimmer groaned in agony forcing her legs to move. Every part of her body hurt, her back, arm and eye especially. She reached around with her right hand as she got into a sitting position but paused when she felt nothing hit her… wait… using her good eye, she looked down in horror to see that her right arm was completely missing from elbow down.
Panic gripped her as she shot out the bed with a stumble, almost tripping on the hospital gown she had been clad in. She used her good arm to prop herself on her IV and began to make her way towards the bed across from her, fear etched on her face.
