Shimmer gasped for breath as desperately tried to hold her own against… whoever this guy was. He certainly wasn’t holding back any punches and even though her magic was strong, he was significantly more powerful.

She flew through the air, sending spell after spell at the sorcerer, but he was able to counter her at ever angle. Eventually, her anger got the better of and she failed the see a coil of a magical restraint wrap around her ankle and fling her through the air. She hit a building, and almost felt her spine brake. Good thing she was resilient.

Getting to her feet and spitting out a glob of blood, she made one last lunge at the man. But she failed to see his hands light up in a green glow. The last thing she saw was a portal heading straight for her, and then…
