She handed the mace to Shimmer so she could get hold it. “You could borrow it for a while if you want. I’ve got a duplicate back home.” she gestured. 

Shimmer let out a squeak of happiness and she gently took the mace from Dem’s hands. “Oooo, this has a good weight to it…” she said.

“You know, you’re still in the dress, sooooo… may I have this dance, ma’am?” Shimmer asked, bowing slightly and outstretching her hand.
