Sunset sighed to herself as she wiped down the table at the fast food taco joint she was in. She wouldn’t have been caught dead working in a place like this but she needed money, and desperately. Her bike was running low on gas and she had managed to stop and set up shop on the nearest place she was close to: a city called Echo Creek. It was a nice place, but she didn’t have any intentions of staying her permanently, just enough so she could start traveling again.

She moved her way to the next table, but noticed it was occupied by a lone woman with poofy blueish looking hair and was quite lovely to look at. She cleared her throat and asked politely “Um, excuse me, but do you need your table wiped?”

Star had suggested a sugar burrito as perhaps one of the finest earth foods but Eclipsa found the burrito sans sugar tasted better. Plus got her less odd looks.  She rarely visited earth, mainly going the Beach city, however seeing where Star was sent was interesting.

Everyone was fairly friendly and helpful including the employee who regarded her.

“Oh, most I need is company, dear!”

It was rather lonely eating by oneself in a booth for two.

Oh. This was… Unexpected. Sunset looked around sneakily as she glanced behind her. Luckily no one was really behind the counter and it’s not like she could use the break. Setting down the bus tray on the seat beside her, saying “Um… Sure.”

She smiled as she said, “So, how are you doing today, ma’am?”

“Wonderful! Minus my great granddaughter lying about sugar burritos.”

She’d tease Star about that later on, she supposed!

“Not everything works with sugar well.”

Sunset let out a pleasant chuckle as she said “Boy, don’t I know that. An… old… Somebody that I once knew used to put sugar on EVERYTHING she ate, even if it was already full of sugar: burritos, burgers, hot dogs, chili fries, pancakes, you name it!”

She chuckled to herself a the memories came back to her, but soon her joy turned to sadness, and a trace of anger and she hurriedly turned wiped her eyes, hoping that the woman wouldn’t notice.

“Perhaps those two would get along!~”

Star technically got along with most but someone to match her energy could make a lifelong friend. Eclipsa was keen enough to notice the emotional shift and she was always one to be direct.

“Something weighing on your mind, sweetie?”

“I… It’s just been a really long month,” Sunset said morosely, she she clasped her hands together, shyly twitching her thumbs. “A lot has been happening, and the world hasn’t really been kind to me. Truth be told, you’re the first person I’ve actually had a true conversation with since I left my old town.”

She sighed deeply and gently sniffed, the stress of her situation beginning to hit her again, but she tried to keep her resolve and not have an outright breakdown in front of the kind woman.
