Sunset drove like a madwoman down the streets of New York City. She didn’t know what to expect when she got here, and she’d heard rumors of various things: monsters and mutants roaming the streets, masked vigilantes dishing out justice in Harlem and Hell’s Kitchen, sorcerers hiding in plain sight… She’d even heard tale of Ninjas. Of course she thought it was all made up. At least the threat that was following her was real.
She had told herself, ‘Don’t interfere, just turn around and walk away…’ but even after all she had been through, she was still better then that. And that’s how she’d ended up with… Six? She had to guess, six of theses guys that called themselves “The Purple Dragons” after her for trying to help that girl. She swore loudly as she heard the sound of gunshots ring out behind her, and she ducked instinctively.
One more shot rang out and her bike swung uncontrollably as she desperately tried to pull into an empty alleyway, but her bike was moving too fast and she ran head first into a dumpster. Groaning, she looked up to see headlights pull in behind her and moved to get up, but a jolt of dizziness swam through her and she collapsed to the ground, unable to her the words being spoken to her. All that went through her mind was, ‘Well… Shit.’
☠️
|| Casey had seen it all happen from above. His beloved spot at the rooftops had created him some opportunity to watch everything before he would act at the right time.
AT first, it looked like the girl had outrun those numbskulls but that was before he suddenly saw her fall into that dumpster. Damn, that must have hurt. Maybe it was now the time to act, especially when those asses started to surround the said object.
The jock straightened his pose, cracked his neck and fingers, and settled the mask perfectly in front of his face before he eventually made his way down with the help of the fire escape. Once on the ground and the Purple Dragon members came into sight, he took a grip of the hockey stick that was placed on his back and took a puck at of his pocket.
Now he just needed a good angle, and a good swing and……BAM! The puck flew through the air, right against one of the guys jaw. Looks like that will tunr into a good bruise.
“Ya know, I’m insulted! There is a party going on right here and Casey Jones ain’t invited! Such a shame!” Casey pointed out in a teasing way, playing with the hockeystick around his fingers while his eyes remained on the guys in case they were gonna do something. ||
Sunset groaned as her senses slowly came back to her, the roar in her head slowly turning into a dull ache, and she slowly got to up on her hands and knees. She looked over to see the five remaining Purple Dragons surrounding what looked to be a guy in a mask. The other Dragons didn’t seem to notice her as she climbed to her feet, using the dumpster for support.
“I honestly wasn’t expecting another guest to show up, but hey,” she called out, cracking her knuckles. “At least I’ll have back up for when we beat you all into the ground.” With those words, she reached into her right pocket and slid on a dull golden brass knuckle. “So… Who wants to go first?” She said with a grin.
One of the leaner men let out cry and swung with a wild and wide right cross, but Sunset saw it coming from a mile away. Dodging out of the way, her right hand shot with a hard right hook, hitting the Dragon square on his jaw. A sicking ‘CRACK’ was headed, and Sunset swore she saw more then a few teeth fly out of his mouth as he hit the ground with a whimper. “Jones, was it?” She asked. “I believe it’s your move.”
